Laura is the most experienced and extensively trained licensed acupunturist in Eastern Iowa. She holds a 1984 Master of Acupuncture degree from the New England School of Acupuncture and a 1986 Masters in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University. Licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Iowa in 1999, Laura has provided Acupuncture and Oriental medicine services in Iowa City since 1992. She has studied Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and electrical acupuncture extensively and integrates them to provide a highly adaptable treatment style that has benefit for most any condition. She is certified in Chinese Herbal Medicine and is also a Certified Wahls Protocol practitioner. She was an adjunct lecturer at the University of Iowa for 6 years, teaching students about the variety of complementary medicine modalities and the research behind them. She has specialties in treating musculoskeletal problems, metabolic health, and mental health. One of her greatest joys is assisting people to understand their health condition and create a health care plan to integrate complementary care with conventional biomedical care.
